To promote the prevention and care of diabetes through research on patient and provider education, health services, community participation and policy.Goals
- Inform, educate and empower people about strategies to improve their diabetes-related health issues
- Research new insights and innovative solutions to diabetes-related health problems and translate scientific discoveries into widespread clinical practice
- Explore novel approaches to link people to needed personal health services and assure access to adequate health care
- Eliminate health disparities in diabetes prevention and care
- Mobilize community partnerships to identify and solve diabetes-related health problems
- Develop and study policies that support individual and community level efforts to improve diabetes-related health behaviors
- Conduct research that helps inform policy regarding the provision of health services addressing diabetes prevention and care
