The Office of Education in the Indiana University Department of Medicine is committed to developing highly competent, caring physicians who can provide quality inpatient and outpatient care. Our graduate medical education training programs simultaneously focus on preparing trainees for generalist careers while providing a solid foundation for further specialization. To achieve these goals, the office focuses on developing clinical teaching excellence in both faculty and resident teachers, providing diverse teaching venues, and implementing well-crafted competency-based curricula with movement toward more structured and objective assessment.
