David Crabb, MD, shares his thoughts about the Executive Health Program"One thing is for certain: the Executive Health Program at IU helps people realize the importance of determining their health status, understanding what decisions they can make to improve that status, and motivating them to change. Mike Busk, the program director, does a wonderful job as a physician in encouraging people to reflect on wellness as a whole. When this is accomplished, the results are impressive. This program has become a valuable resource for many patients living in Indiana and throughout other parts of the country. I certainly support—and live by—the well-established recommendations for a prudent dietary pattern, smoking cessation, moderation in alcohol use and regular exercise. There is no question that these lifestyle choices reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and many cancers. Prevention is an essential part of medicine and it is the premise behind the Executive Health Program."
