Your Peers in the Program - Cathy and Larry Teghtmeyer

Cathy and Larry Teghtmeyer

Cathy and Larry Teghtmeyer

Cathy and Larry Teghtmeyer have both lost siblings to cancer. So it should come as no surprise that they are strong advocates of preventive testing and make it an important part of their personal healthcare. "If we have problems, we want to head them off early," Cathy notes. "In Larry's case, I think being involved in Executive Health has been a life saver."

After losing his brother to stomach cancer, Larry became involved in a study at the IU School of Medicine, which potentially would detect early signs of the cancer before symptoms were present. Sure enough, a pre-cancerous condition was discovered that required medication and follow up. "The program there has brought me to a comfort level," Larry says. "I had the start of something that probably would have taken my life if it hadn't been treated. I have the confidence to know that if something goes wrong, we'll catch it early." Cathy adds, "We were able to address it before there were even symptoms because we were involved in their case study. We're glad to be at the finest institution because if something happens, we'll be in the right place to take care of it."

Cathy's experiences with Executive Health have helped her alleviate migraine headaches. "Dr. Busk refers you to the people you need to see and he connected me with Dr. Robert Pascuzzi, a wonderful neurologist. Our goal not only was to treat the migraines but also to prevent them altogether," Cathy notes. Finding the right medication for Cathy was, as she puts it, "wonderful for my quality of life."

The Teghtmeyers make it a point to encourage friends and family to become involved in Executive Health because they value the personalized attention. "Dr. Busk and his staff are so thorough and they have time for you. They are very patient and sincere," notes Larry. "As we age, things are going to start falling apart. We're comfortable having Executive Health as our body mechanic. We really are on top of aging as gracefully as possible." Cathy agrees, "In this day and age when it's oftentimes difficult to get someone to return your calls, Dr. Busk and his staff take care of your needs. They give you a tremendous amount of personal service and their response is immediate."
