Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking outstanding candidates to join our growing Geriatrics Program. Positions are available for junior and mid-level faculty pursuing careers as clinician-educators or clinician-researchers. Designated as a "New Generation of Academic Programs in Geriatrics" by the John A. Hartford Foundation, we offer clinical, teaching, research, and leadership opportunities that span the continuum of care across three different health care systems in Indianapolis (Eskenazi Health, IU Health and the Roudebush VAMC).
- Clinician-Educators. Successful candidates will possess clinical, leadership and teaching skills that will allow him or her to make immediate contributions to our rapidly growing academic geriatrics program. Opportunities include leadership and participation in the development of innovative clinical and teaching programs in a variety of geriatric care settings, including ACE units, a nursing home network, and house call service. Successful candidates will also participate in the D.W. Reynolds Training Center and Geriatrics Education Network of Indiana, a statewide initiative to promote geriatrics education. Candidates must be board-certified or fellowship-trained in geriatric medicine.
- Clinician-Researchers. Successful candidates will possess a strong background in research design, methodology, and analysis and demonstrate substantial promise in competing for federal funding and conducting innovative research. Clinician-researchers will have the opportunity for appointment in the IU Center for Aging Research, the IU Roybal Center, the Regenstrief Institute, Inc., and HSR&D at Roudebush VAMC. Opportunities for collaboration include geriatric health services research, medical informatics, health promotion, basic and behavioral science.
