Acute Care for Elders Unit (ACE)

Cathy Schubert, M.D. - Medical Director, ACE Unit & Consult Service, Indiana University Hospitalized older adults can present unique challenges, including multiple chronic conditions, polypharmacy, depression, dementia, and delirium which can increase the patient's length of stay in the hospital. The Acute Care of Elders (ACE) Inpatient Consult Service offers comprehensive geriatric care with the goal of preserving the function and independence of hospitalized older adults, age 65 and older during an acute illness. Healthy Aging Brain Center
