Patient Care

We value state-of-the-art, compassionate, patient-focused care that is always directed to the best interests of our patients without regard to race, religion, or ability to pay. We value the continued development of cost-effective consumer-oriented ways to care for patients and their families. We value collegial relationships and interdisciplinary efforts with other faculty, referring physicians, and our patients.

Our clinical venues include IU-Medical Group-Primary Care (IUMG-PC), IU Medical Group-Hospitalists at Wishard Hospital and University Hospital, Roudebush VA Ambulatory Care, and our IU-Kenya Program in Eldoret, Kenya.

IUMG-PC is a primary care practice of Indiana University physicians. IUMG-PC physicians specialize in adult Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Adolescent Medicine, Geriatrics, and OB/GYN.

Our IUMG-Hospitalists provide care on the in-patient wards of Wishard Hospital and University Hospital. Kirsten-Kaisner Duncan, M.D., Chief of Medicine for Wishard Hospital, is the director of the hospitalist program. Recent data from more than 90 public hospitals show that Wishard has the lowest adjusted mortality rate and is in the lowest quartile in costs. Lisa Harris, M.D., division member and Regenstrief Institute scientist, is CEO and Medical Director of Wishard Hospital, which has been recognized for its excellence by the National Association of Hospitals and Health Systems.

The Roudebush VA Ambulatory Care General Medicine Clinics care for 20,000 patients and have 60,000 visits per year and are a primary research site for the Health Service Research and Development Center of Excellence.
