GIMG faculty in the VAMC General Medicine Clinics care for an additional 24,000 patients and are a primary research site for VAMC’s HSR&D Center of Excellence in areas such as pain management, depression, diabetes, and osteoarthritis. In addition to ongoing primary care, the GIMG’s VAMC faculty are helping meet the challenge of caring for our veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. VAMC primary care clinics also continue to expand their role in outpatient teaching with a total of 36 interns and residents holding their clinic sessions there.
