IU-Roybal Pilot Projects
The primary objective of IU-Roybal is to facilitate research to improve support and education for self-management among vulnerable older adults cared for by generalist physicians.
Pilot Core strategy
- Identify and develop research initiatives that can translate and evaluate models of chronic disease self-management education and support,
- Facilitate research that can be integrated into real-world clinical practice and into systems of care for older adults,
- Respond to community needs and local opportunities for collaboration,
- Fund research that represents pathways to dissemination and knowledge utilization, and
- Produce critical pilot project data that enables a principal investigator to develop an R01-type application Self-management assessment
- Funds are awarded to Indiana University faculty members who have been invited to submit and/or develop a research proposal by Roybal personnel.
