ResNet provides assistance to projects recruiting primary care patients from IU Medical Group—Primary Care (IUMG-PC) and Wishard Clinics. All research conducted within IUMG/Wishard must be approved and monitored by ResNet. ResNet has a business agreement with IUMG and works with IUMG clinicians to insure patient information is accurate and being handled confidentially.

In-Person Recruitment and Screening

ResNet can approach patients directly at the time of patients' appointments to see if they are eligible and interested in participating in a project. The percent of people who agree to participate varies based on the type of study and the level of patient involvement, but in the 49+ studies conducted by ResNet an average of 63% of patients have agreed to participate in research projects over the past 8 years.

Telephone Recruitment and Screening

ResNet can also approach patients by telephone to see if they would be willing to participate in a project. ResNet has telephone recruiters who contact patients both during the day and in the evening. In past telephone recruitment studies, an average of 70% of patients who are eligible agree to participate further in our studies.

Other Services

ResNet is also able to assist with mail surveys, clinician surveying, focus groups, and intervention trials. Please talk to Jane Anne French on how we can help you with your study. Contact us early in the development stage, to enable us to provide recruitment expertise. Complex regulatory guidelines, limited resources and conflicting demands for time and resources, require management and the oversight of the execution of recruitment and measuring progress against expectations.

ResNet adheres to all HIPAA and Human Subject Rules. Research conducted within ResNet and IUMG clinics is approved through the IUPUI IRB and IUMG Senior Management Team. Providing a safe research environment that is sensitive to the patients’ needs, confidentiality, and safety is important to IUMG and ResNet. Projects conducted in IUMG clinics are also expected to be sensitive to each clinic’s work flow. ResNet enables the research burden on practice staff and space to be minimal.
