Physicians Workshop

Course Description

This course is designed for gastroenterologists, surgeons and fellows engaged in the comprehensive care of patients with pancreatobiliary disease. Experts in the area of ERCP will review and discuss current knowledge of the following topics.

  • Informed consent & legal issues
  • Pancreatic pseudocyst
  • Pancreas divisum
  • Chronic Pancreatitis - Diagnosis and Management
  • Malignant Pancreatitis - Diagnosis and Management
  • Idiopathic Pancreatitis - Diagnosis and Management
  • Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction/manometry - techniques and interpretations
  • Difficult cannulation
  • Biliary Disorders - sclerosing cholangitis, biliary strictures
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound and MRCP as they pertain to pancreatobiliary disease
  • Bile Duct Stone management
  • Malignancies of Bile Duct Obstruction - Diagnosis and Management
  • Bile Leaks - Diagnosis and management
  • Training Issues at ERCP

These are accomplished through clinical observation, review of films, and group discussion.

Nurses Workshop

ERCP Nurses Workshops have been approved by ISNA (Indiana State Nurses Association)

The Indiana State Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Continuing education activities which are approved by an ANCC accredited approver are recognized by all other ANCC accredited approvers throughout the country. ANCC is a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association.

Therapeutic ERCP For Nurses

This course is designed for registered nurses engaged in the comprehensive care of patients with pancreatobiliary disease. Nurses will review and discuss current knowledge of the following topics.

  • Preparation of the ERCP Patient
  • Sedation and Analgesia Overview
  • ERCP Teamwork
  • Scope Care
  • Informed Consent

These are accomplished through live case demonstrations, clinical observation, review of films, and group discussion.
