The facility will accommodate up to 12,000 deliveries annually and has a 50 bed newborn intensive care unit. It will be managed entirely by Kenyan faculty and staff, will serve as the referral center for Western Kenya, and will be a site for training the region's healthcare providers on obstetrical and neonatal care.
