Welcome to Palliative Fellowship

Welcome to the IUSM Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship

I am delighted that you are considering our fellowship at the IU School of Medicine!  We are dedicated to training and educating compassionate physicians in the care of patients with life-threatening illness.  Since 2005, we have been committed to developing leaders in the field of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.  Our past fellows have gone on to practice and assume leadership positions throughout the country.

Our fellowship offers a one year clinical fellowship.  During that time, fellows will experience a variety of clinical environments, Eskenazi Health (which serves as the flagship site of the fellowship), Richard L. Roudebush VA, IU Health, St. Vincent Hospital and Hospice, and local area hospices.  Fellows are exposed to a variety of patient populations throughout their fellowship.

Alongside the development of clinical skills, we offer unique opportunities to our fellows.  The IU-Kenya Partnership provides an elective for fellows to travel to Kenya and work at Moi Teaching and Referral hospital (MTRH), with the goal of relieving suffering and improving the quality of life in Western Kenya.  Other opportunities include collaborative learning from our weekly conferences where fellows or other IUSM faculty share their research and clinical experiences.

We look forward to answering any of your questions and thank you for considering our program!  Please see here for more information about applying to the fellowship.
