The Pulmonary and Critical Care Division carries out research on how to improve lung transplantation, how to prevent the lung injury that often complicates other medical or surgical problems, and in how microorganisms invade the lung, as often occurs in AIDS. Clinical activities include endoscopic examination of the lungs and pleural space, exercise testing and rehabilitation, occupational lung diseases, consultation and care, and diagnosis and treatment of lung cancers.
