I am working on a Masters in Clinical Research. My research interest is in delirium and ICU survivorship. I am currently running a randomized controlled trial of music therapy in the ICU to reduce the incidence of delirium.

Research interest   I am interested in the global health implications of the microbiome. There are known differences in the lung microbiome between normal subjects in Malawi and the U.S. My research study will seek to correlate these differences to the environment. My project will require travel to Malawi, as well learning the techniques to perform and process BAL samples in limited-resource settings.

Research interest   The aims of my project are to evaluate the epigenetic modifications that occue in teh development of pulmonary vasculature at high altitude. We are using a murine model of in-utero and post-natal hypoxia to determine when these modifications occue. We hope to better understand what facilitates adaptations in the pulmonary vasculature and lung at high altitude and apply these mechanisms to pathologic diseases in people suffering from chronic hypoxia at sea level.

Research interest   During my second year of fellowship training, I opened an adult asthma center. In this clinic I have tried to implement practices that allow for molecular phenotyping through various biomarkers. This approach allows a more precise way to select patients for targeted therapies line anti-lgE and ant-IL 5 therapy. Since its initiation we have implemented fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) testing and atni-IL 5 injections which treat severe eosiniphilic asthma.
