Educational sessions are on a weekly basis except for the first month when the focus is on orientation. The month of July is an introduction to the Basics of Sleep Medicine, the Sleep Laboratory and Home Care Services. This includes learning the technical aspects of sleep medicine as it pertains to sleep diagnostics, sleep therapeutics and to didactic lectures.
Lecture topics are diverse and encompass the fields of pulmonology, neurology, pediatrics, psychiatry, dentistry and otolaryngology.
The studies performed at our sleep center include polysomnograms, PAP titrations, multiple sleep latency tests, maintenance of wakefulness tests, actigraphy and home sleep tests. Fellows will interpret sleep studies under supervision.
Over the course of the fellowship, fellows will gain more autonomy while continuing to work alongside their supervisors.
