Virginia A. Caine, M.D., an Arkansas native, earned her MD at the University of Cincinnati. She completed her medicine residency at SUNY - Upstate and an infectious diseases and public health fellowship at the University of Washington. Currently, she serves as Director of the Marion County Health Department. She served on the National Committee for Quality Assurance HEDIS Users Group and is Chief of the Infectious Diseases Section of the National Medical Association. She also serves on the Centers for Disease Control Managed Care Working Group and on the Institute of Medicine Committee on the Prevention and Control of Sexually Transmitted Diseases. The Indianapolis Business Journal recently selected her as one of the Influential Women of Indianapolis.
