Christopher M. Callahan, M.D., is the Cornelius and Yvonne Pettinga Professor in Aging Research and founding director of the Indiana University Center for Aging Research. His research focuses on improving the primary care of older adults. His work is funded by the National Institute on Aging through an Academic Leadership Award, Clinical and Midcareer Investigator Awards, a Center Core grant, and numerous research projects. He has chaired national committees for the Society of General Internal Medicine and served as a member of the organization’s national council. He serves on the editorial board of the Annals of Internal Medicine. Dr. Callahan is a national and international speaker on topics ranging from late life depression to dementia to models of care for older adults. He leads a successful mentoring program in geriatrics health services research at the Regenstrief Institute, Inc. where he is a research scientist.
