Thomas F. Imperiale, MD is a Professor of Medicine and Associate Director for Research for the Division of Gastroenterology. He is also a Research Scientist at the Regenstrief Institute. Dr. Imperiale's research interest broadly is in the area of technology assessment for digestive diseases and liver disease, and is focused more specifically on tailoring colorectal cancer screening based on risk. He is funded by the National Cancer Institute and NIDDK to pursue this specific research interest and to mentor fellows and junior faculty in their research pursuits. Dr. Imperiale is also member of the Center of Excellence for Implementation of Evidence-based Practice at the Roudebush VA Medical Center. He has won several national awards for excellence in research.
