Thomas F. Imperiale, MD is a Professor of Medicine for the Division of Gastroenterology/Hepatology in the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is a staff physician practicing at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. Dr. Imperiale is a core investigator in the VA HSR&D Center of Excellence on Implementing Evidence-Based Practice and research scientist with Regenstrief Institute, Inc. and the IU Center for Health Services and Outcomes Research Dr. Imperiale's research interest is in the area of technology assessment for digestive diseases and liver disease, and is focused more specifically on tailoring colorectal cancer screening based on risk. He is funded by the National Cancer Institute and NIDDK to pursue this specific research interest and to mentor fellows and junior faculty in their research pursuits. He has won several national awards for excellence in research.
