Dr. Moe completed fellowship training in Nephrology at the University of Chicago and is currently Professor of Medicine and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Medicine at Indiana University. Her research is in the field of bone and mineral metabolism in both basic science and clinical investigations. Her special research interests include vascular calcification, renal osteodystrophy and osteoporosis, and the expression of bone-like proteins in vascular tissue. She has active grant support from the NIH and VA and several pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Moe directed Nephrology Fellowship at Indiana University from 1994-1997 and has led the Department of Medicine Clinical Trials Program since 1998, a program to enhance clinical and translational research. She is active in the National Kidney Foundation, serving as the co-chair of the Global Bone and Mineral Initiative to facilitate education and research in bone and vascular complications in dialysis patients worldwide. She is chair of the NKF 2005 Annual Scientific Meeting. She is also active in the American Society of Nephrology and American Heart Association Kidney Council. She has lectured nationally and internationally on renal osteodystrophy and vascular calcification.
