Dr. Pratt's research is directed at the causes of hypertension. His laboratory studies renal sodium transport systems to better understand the mechanisms that promote sodium retention and increase blood pressure. He has had long-term, continuous support from the National Institutes of Health and from the Veterans Administration. He is the Associate Chief of Staff for Research at the VA Medical Center. He currently serves on several editorial boards and an NIH Study Section.
