Dr. Sarosi, after graduating from Harvard Medical School, completed residency training at the University of Minnesota. Subsequently, he has held academic appointments at the University of Minnesota, University of Texas (Houston), University of Arizona, Stanford University, and Indiana University. Dr. Sarosi has held many leadership positions, including Chief of the Ambulatory Care Programs at the St. Paul Ramsey Hospital, Chief of the Medical Service at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, Vice-Chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of Texas in Houston, and Chief of the Medical Service at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and Chief of the Medical Service at the Roudebush VA Medical Center, a teaching hospital for the Indiana University School of Medicine. He retired from the Roudebush VA Medical Center in 2006. He continues to teach on the wards of both Wishard Memorial and the VA Hospitals. Over the course of his career, he has received, to date, 17 teaching awards. He has served on the editorial boards of six medical journals, most recently for CHEST. He has published extensively, particularly in the area of fungal infections.
